November 20, 2026
10:00am-1:00pm
We’re gathering at the farm to remember Ethan Esparza and the community work that grew from his story.
Ethan was a young Pomona child whose life was taken by gang violence in 2006. His death inspired Farmer Randy of Amy’s Farm to help create Operation E.T.H.A.N. (Everyone Together Healing All Neighborhoods), bringing neighbors together through gardening, urban agriculture, and community care.
Randy’s work helped grow urban farming initiatives in Pomona and he also mentored our founder, Stephen Yorba. That history is an important part of how Lopez Urban Farm came to be, and why we continue to believe that growing food together can also help us build stronger, more connected neighborhoods.
We’ll be joined by community members to share stories and reflect on Ethan’s legacy.
Afterward, we’ll share a meal together, prepared by our friend Cat from Cat Mac’s & Treats.
Free lunch for guests with RSVP!
We’d love for you to join us, whether you knew Ethan and his family, were part of the early community gardening efforts, or simply want to learn more about this history.
This event is FREE, but if you would like to make a donation, please add BOTH the event and donation to your cart.
