In the spirit of Ignacio Lopez's legacy, Urban Farmer Training for Kids honors his commitment to community empowerment and education. Every 4th Sunday from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm, Pomona students aged 2-12 and their caregivers gather at Lopez Urban Farm to embark on a journey of learning how to cultivate their own food. Structured in seasonal sessions, this program draws inspiration from Lopez's advocacy and employs a diverse range of hands-on activities and educational approaches for immersive on-the-farm lessons.
